Austin has faced more challenges in his young life than most can imagine. Diagnosed with leukemia at just 17 months old, he spent four years undergoing chemotherapy. Through it all, he remained resilient. When he finally regained his health, he discovered a love for the outdoors with the support of his father. Hunting became his way to make up for lost time, and this season, thanks to so many generous people, he got to experience the adventure of a lifetime—an elk hunt at the legendary N Bar Ranch in Montana.

The journey wasn’t easy. A snowstorm made travel from Billings difficult, and on the morning of the hunt, the ranch truck got stuck in deep snow. But Austin, always positive, never let it shake him. Once the truck was free, they pushed forward, determined to make the most of the day.

None of this would have been possible without Justin Taylor and Ted Allison, who were instrumental in making this hunt happen. Their dedication and generosity ensured Austin had the chance to experience something truly special. Austin’s guide, Josh Sanofsky, not only led the hunt but, along with his wife Tamarel, also welcomed Austin and his dad, Jonathan, into their home. Their kindness was yet another example of the incredible support behind this opportunity.

When the opportunity finally came, Austin kept his composure and made a perfect shot on his first elk. Overcome with excitement, he ran straight to his guide, wrapped him in a hug, and thanked him. His joy was contagious, a true reflection of how much this opportunity meant to him.

Austin loves spending time hunting and being in the outdoors with his father, Jonathan, on his grandfather’s land. Every chance he gets, he’s out there, making memories and deepening his passion for the hunt. This trip was a continuation of that love, creating an experience he will never forget.

Throughout the entire trip, Austin’s humility, kindness, and gratitude stood out. He never took a single moment for granted, reminding all of us why we do what we do.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this hunt possible. You’ve given Austin a memory that will last a lifetime.
