Fulfilled Dreams

Lane Doubles Up on Elk in Montana

Hunters posing with elk in snowy field.

It is with incredible pride that I have the opportunity to tell you about Lane and his first successful elk hunt. Not only was Lane able to take a cow elk on his recent trip to Montana, but Outdoor Dreams helped him harvest two in a matter of seconds! This extraordinary experience is one that most hunters will never have in a lifetime spent chasing elk.

Outdoor Dreams’ couldn’t have found a more deserving child to help. Lane is an incredible young man who brings joy to everyone around him with his positive outlook, contagious smile and excitement for the hunt. After talking to Lane’s guide Josh immediately after the hunt, it was clear that Lane had won over his heart and strengthened Josh’s passion to help children find success.

Lane is an 12 year old that loves the outdoors more than most can imagine but happens to have a very rare medical condition in children called dermatomyositis. Lane has spent more time in a hospital in his life than anyone should ever have to deal with, but he doesn’t let it stop him from chasing his passion in the outdoors in his home state of Minnesota. Outdoor Dreams volunteer Brad has taken Lane deer hunting on multiple occasions over the last few years, and Lane has had great success on Whitetails. Lane loves being the provider for his family freezer and hit the jackpot on this trip when it comes to tasty organic meat.

Guided by Josh and Ted on the second day of the hunt, Lane executed two remarkable shots at approximately 500 yards. A few moments later two cow elk were on the ground and Lane was standing over them all smiles.

We share Lane’s inspiring story to encourage you to consider supporting Outdoor Dreams. We could not do this without our generous donors and volunteers. Our heartfelt thanks to the Sanofsky family for guiding and hosting Lane and his mother Stacey, Ted and Justin Taylor from the N Bar Ranch for allowing access to the hunter’s version of Disneyland, and Brad for taking Lane and his mother all the way from Minnesota.

Thank you to everyone who has already given to make this possible and for those who have helped get us to this point. We are going to make 2024 a year to remember when it comes to fulfilling Outdoor Dreams for our kids.
